All Hallow’s Eve baby! I’m told I’m going out someplace or other. Not sure I want to. I’ve been out the last good few nights and really I wouldn’t mind just curling up with my Buffy DVDs. I’ve had about six minutes’ sleep the last few nights, because it’s been so cold, and because I leave my homework to the last minute like an eejit. At least I’ll look appropriately frightening I guess.
My parents were here visiting since Friday, they just left today. I think they liked it. We had fun over the few days anyway. They brought me Proper Chocolate and Ali Smith short stories.
Did something very silly today: clomped my foot down in wet cement. My black Converse are a dark shade of grey now. They’ll probably never recover. I’m just back from town. Once again I’ve chosen music over food or clothing. So now I have new Damien Rice, Neutral Milk Hotel and Sinead O’Connor.
Handed up short story #2. An Irish American melodrama this. I got such positive response to the Irishness of my last story that I’m afraid I quite hammed it up this time. Begorrah.
Oh yes, and … YAY RED SOX!!!
Hi!
Glad to hear you had a great time with the folks and that they managed to feed you for a while – this music & book diet is not good for the figure! Looking forward to hearing their version of events next weekend!
Political rallies wouldn’t normally feature on my holiday agenda but maybe they should – sounds like fun!
Presume ya heard about the big Dublin win last weekend – C hasn’t been the better of it since as self-induced post celebration illness transformed into genuine sickness…. needs to recover soon to get back to his parental duties – these formative weeks are SOOO important!
10 work days to go… can’t come too quickly at this stage…
Get some sleep & food (practicing my mammy talks!)
xx
Aww, poor Cathal! How’s he doing now? Conor had a great time there anyway. Brilliant to hear about the win. They seemed to have inspired the Red Sox to victory too!
Ten work days – it’ll fly. I’ve only seven weeks left here. Seven!
I think we’ve all had a wet cement incident at some stage. I myself lost a very fetching pair of black patent leather buckle-ups at the tender age of six. Were there signs? If not, I say sue and live like a queen!
Did you end up going out for Halloween anyways?
Oh my – such a traumatising incident at such a crucial stage in development! The compensation money would barely cover therapy. There weren’t signs now you mention it. Hmm. I *could* use a new pair of runners …
Yeah, I went out in the end. I was a girly, non-singing Phantom of the Opera. Great night! What did you get up to?
Ooh, you dressed up! Photos please! We went to a house party. It wasn’t a great night though because the place was so packed we spent most of the time standing outside in the cold, sans alcohol. Also, Christina is currently (unfathomably) infatuated with this nasty French boy, who was totally drunk and foul-mouthed. Love really must be blind. I asked him what part of France he was from and he was like, “What’s your problem?” and then told me what a shithole Ireland is. Charming fellow. Had a great night out on Wednesday though. Tory’s friend Eve was over and we headed out to a couple of local pubs and then into town where we met these two guys and ended up heading back to one of their houses to smoke weed. Just one of those crazy, random nights.
Hi everyone, Did you have a happy hallowen? !!
