Here’s some photos from the first weekend in October, when Conor and I went to New York for a few days.
Brenead and Conor on the ferry out to Ellis Island.
Liberty enlightening the world, or whatever it is she does.
Conor is not altogether displeased with Times Square.
The nice turquoise, purple, pink and black M&Ms I got in M&M World.
St Patrick’s Cathedral.
Me at the … well, that’s all the clues you’re getting.
At Yoko Ono’s tribute garden to John Lennon in Central Park. Weirdly, it was John Lennon’s birthday the day we were there, and people were gathered for a singsong and to leave little gifts at the Imagine mosaic at the centre.
A Triceratops at the Natural History Museum. I was very into dinosaurs as a kid, knew lots of irrelevant facts about them. I still think they look cool.
Last week was kind of fun. I went to a techno club (not as ear-bleedingly awful as you might think), saw an all-female version of Macbeth on stage (nice to see women playing major Shakespearean tragedy roles that don’t involve going mad or dying), and saw a few movies (Across the Universe, Sleuth and The Darjeeling Limited).
Psychology and Shakespeare midterms tomorrow … God help me. But ooh, Red Sox in the World Series! I shall celebrate like the shameless bandwagon-jumper I am.

Now you’re really pushing it close to the line with photos and all…. and as for rhyming with grenade…. hmmm…. I understand the expressed mission to make Conor look cool but at my expense?!
Just back from Spain – fantastic time – you now officially have competition in the god-d stakes so it is time to start being nice!
17 days in work and counting and then I can log on every day so will expect plenty of material to keep me busy! You can even send me on the material for class so I can add my comments!!!
Omg, I loved dinosaurs too when I was a kid! I even wrote a book about them in school when we all had to write pretend books for National Book Week. I also saw Jurrassic Park four times in the cinema.
Mavis: Aww … that’s a lovely picture! Arrgh, I’ve become too accustomed to being the only godchild. Just remember that I can talk and buy you presents and stuff! (I still owe you a bday gift by the way!) Just 17 days to go eh? I’ll do my best to keep you occupied!
Audrey: Haha! You clearly outdo me in the dinosaur fan stakes. I had a few dinosaur teddies and card games and stuff like that. Haven’t even seen the second two Jurassic Park movies, for shame!
ah so! have been extremely bad about posting comments of late, sincerest apologies! hope u+parental units are having a ball. oh MAN redsox are 3nil up, HOW excited am i??? they rule all. word on the street in moneygall is that young pedroia will get rookie of the year. we saw a shot of prudy on telly the other morning at 7.05am (baseball is on at the most ungodly hours!) with GO Sox on the side, oh i love it! can’t believe u got so close to obama! he sounds vcool, damn that hilary wan anyway! was talkin to Ais K yesterday, she’ll be in Bozzie Tues week! I’ll give her your US moby munber. What a parade of visitors you are having! no news with me – Denis will be 30 on Wed! Weekend in Dungarvan in 2 weeks time, then the camogie weekend away the weekend after that, man what a busy social calendar ha ha. we are going to kilkenny for the weekend away, we decided to ditch the sporting activity this year +go straight to the drinking. am i allowed to write comments this long?
Sox won! Woooo! Mike Lowell was the unlikely hero. Hmm, yes, I heard Pedroia too – he must have been good before I started paying attention to the baseball.
I want Matsusaka to get it. Dad says rookie like ‘ruke-ee’.
Obama is cool. If only I’d had my Moneygall jersey on, I could have flung it at him. Though they’d probably have thought it was a bomb or something and I’d be in a dungeon now.
Why am I missing all the craic and the happy times? Though at least Denis isn’t having a party. Wish I could go to Dungarvan. Good choice with the Kilkenny trip. So if it’s all just drinking, are there no young wans going?
